The ABC's of Asking Jesus Into Your Heart!
(Adapted from WillowCreek Church & Keys For Kids Daily Devotional Books)
A - Admit to God you're a sinner
Everyone has done things to make God unhappy. God tells us that sin is not
allowed in heaven. So you have to do something to get rid of your sin.
Read Romans 3:23 & Revelation 21:27
B - Believe in God, Jesus, & the Bible
Jesus died on the cross. He died so we wouldn't have to be punished for the
wrong things that we've done. Imagine that He hung there on the cross, bleeding,
so you and I could live with God forever.
Read 1 Peter 2:24, Colossians 1:14 & Acts 16:31
C - Choose to follow Jesus.
Tell God that you're sorry for the wrong things that you've done. Tell God that
you believe in Jesus. Tell God that you want to be more like Jesus and spend
time with God forever. Tell God that you want Jesus to live in your heart
forever.
Read Luke 8:13 & Romans 10:13
When you do this (and mean it) then you have asked Jesus into your heart and you
are forgiven (saved) for all the things you have done wrong and all the things
that you will do wrong.
Pray: "Dear God, Thank you for making a way for us to turn from the wrong
things that we have done. I know I have done wrong things, but right now I want
to look upon Jesus so that you will forgive me for the things I have done.
Please let Jesus come into my heart, to live forever there. I want to live
forever with God. Thank you for loving me. In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen."
Now its time to have a party! All the angels in heaven are dancing with
Jesus because you have made the most important decision of your life…To Follow
Jesus.
